Welcome to an exciting journey in the world of math.
GED MATH CAMP (11 Sessions)
Sessions will be held every Wed. & Thurs. evening (5:30 to 7:30)
Beginning Date: October 12, 2011
Ending Date: November 16, 2011
Prerequisite: Math A
Goal: Pass GED Exam in November
This math camp will be geared toward students currently enrolled in Math B, Algebra A or Algebra B preparing to take the GED exam in November. Students will need to attend all sessions. Students will also need to complete a minimum of 10 hours of assigned computer instruction. This course will cover the following at a fast pace: Test Taking Strategies, Solving Word Problems, Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability, Basic Geometry, The basics of Algebra, and Advanced Topics in Algebra & Geometry. This camp will include direct instruction, independent practice, and group discussions.

Session 1 – Practice Test, Word Problems
Session 2 – Word Problems
Session 3 – Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
Session 4 - Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
Session 5 – Basic Geometry
Session 6 – Basic Geometry
Session 7 – The Basics of Algebra
Session 8 – The Basics of Algebra
Session 9 – Advanced Topics in Algebra & Geometry
Session 10 – Advanced Topics in Algebra & Geometry
Session 11 – Test Taking Strategies, Post Test
On class meeting when there is no direct instruction, students may do one of the following:
- Review test questions missed and make corrections
- Review items not covered in class for current chapter
- Computer – www.gedmath.com Review on current chapter
